JOHN HAVERSTOCK, joined Williamson's force at Mingo and fell in love with a beautiful Indian maiden named, "Sweet Corn", whom he found in the fields at Gnadenhutten. He saved her life at the risk of his own and married her from whom the Haverstock family, of Belmont County, and the late W. T. Campbell were descended.  Return to Family Tales
